Flat Feet is considered a condition in which the arches on the inside of the feet flatten when pressure comes on them. This condition is also known as flatfoot. When people with flatten feet stand, the feet point outward, and the whole soles of the feet fall and touch the floor. In the research, it is found out that flat feet generally develop when the arches do not develop during their development stage. However, it can also occur later in life from any kind of injury or simple wear and tear stresses of age.

Flat feet deformity

Flat Feet generally painless but in one scenario if someone is getting pain from the flatfeet and limiting them to do something, then evaluation may be warranted from a specialist.

Most people with flatfeet have no symptoms. But several people with this condition experience foot pain, especially in the arch or heel area. Pain could worsen with activity or swelling can develop along the inside of the ankle.

Flat feet are not rare in toddlers and infants because the foot’s arch has not developed yet. Most of the people’s arches occur throughout childhood. But there are few people who never develop arches. Eventually there are some children who have flexible flatfeet, so often called flexible flatfoot, in which the arch is visible when they sit but disappear when the child stands. These child’s outgrow very well without issues.

Flat feet deformity

People without flatfeet can also develop such conditions or arches can collapse if any injury happens. Or arch can collapse over the year’s wear and tear as it can get weakened. Thus, this condition can lead to the severity of the arthritis which may develop in the foot. For instance, an injury to the ligaments in the foot can cause the joints to fall out from alignment. Ligament is only responsible for supporting the bones and prevents them from moving. In case of ligament tears, the foot will automatically become flat and painful.

Treatment

Several therapies are available which can fix this condition. Arch support (orthotic devices) can help to relieve the pain that occurs from the flatfeet. Stretching exercise also helps people with flat feet deformity and supports them to tighten their ligaments. Physical therapy also contributes to overuse injuries, which can keep them away from arch collapsing.

Risk factors of flatfeet

There are various risk factors of flatfeet as people with flatfeet deformity can develop obesity, injury to the foot or ankle, diabetes, aging and rheumatoid arthritis. For instance, people with diabetes or with nerve issues that automatically limit normal feeling in the feet, or may possibly arch collapse. Such type arch collapse is considered more severe than those people who’s arch collapse over the years because they do not feel pain. Diabetic people ligaments get weakened. Due to this, ligaments do not hold the bones in place, even these bones can sometimes disintegrate and fracture, without the patient feeling any kind of pain.

Flatfeet deformity is risky for everyone because it can develop at any stage of life. I also did not have awareness regarding this condition but I was watching India’s SHARK TANK whereas two entrepreneurs came and told about this condition and explained very well. If someone is suffering from this issue or their family member. I would suggest looking at that episode that would lead to great understanding in each person regarding it and what preventive action should adapt also explained.

I hope everyone likes this topic.

Thank you Guys!

Stay happy! Keep smiling constantly!
